Martin To Perform At This Year's BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards

We're delighted to announce that Martin will be performing live at this year's BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, at the Royal Albert Hall in London, later this month. He will be appearing both as a solo artist and as a member of The Full English. Both Martin's CD, 'Vagrant Stanzas' and The Full English debut album are nominated for Album Of The Year at the Awards and The Full English are also nominated for Best Group.
"I'm so proud of what we achieved as a band this last year and also just as proud of my latest solo CD. Last year was a good year!" says Martin. "It's a real honour to be asked to perform at the Folk Awards and I'm excited to be going back to The Royal Albert Hall, particularly in the year that, Martin Carthy one of my main, musical inspirations in life, is to be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award. There's no doubt that it's a thoroughly deserved award but it'll have to be updated in a few years as I know he's going to carry on producing fantastic and innovative music for a long lifetime yet!"
Martin is also nominated for Musician Of the Year, alongside Will Pound, Aidan O'Rourke and Sam Sweeney. We know he's very chuffed to have been nominated alongside such powerhouse young chaps as they!
Irish supergroup Clannad will also be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award and will be performing live at the event, along with Bellowhead and Suzanne Vega. For a full line up of who will be performing go to
